Why yes, I am a Smart ASS
A group of us went on a nice little 170 mile jaunt up the road to a beautiful canyon in NE Alabama. I had never been before but I am told it used to be a great ride.
The only problem is the road dept has come in some time in the last month or two and scariffed the road down to more or less loose gravel with a hair of tar to keep it together. It would not appear they have any intention of doing anything further at this time. THIS ROAD IS DANGEROUS TO BIKES! STAY OFF CR 275 /148 (see map)
We had two bikes go down (no injurys and just a little cosmetic damage thank goodness) and one get stuck on the side he slide off the road but was able to stay upright until we helped push him out.
Dangerous place here
The BMW guy said the boxer engine worked as his slider
When he went over I was already off my bike trying to help the first guy. As I ran I even lost footing on the road. As we contiued down the road we all slid (lost traction) several times and we were keeping it under 20mph.
Once we cleared this section of road. The ride was much nicer and became enjoyable. Co rd 176. We had several look-out points of the canyon
They say in the winter months the river fill up and is good for EXPERT kayakers and canoer's
