So, at the bottom of that bolt at 11 o'clock is where Highlander was to be found? Little did you know that up ahead God was trying to smite him for riding a Zuke to a FJR rally. Sounds like you 4 and Dave all stayed in Ely but didn't know the other was there too?

Thanks to all of you for posting your adventures and pics. I was and am jealous, but at least I got a vicarious riding fix while I was stuck here at the controls of the 'puter.

So you are the guy Andrew was planing to ride with to AK! That would have been hilarious with each of you topping the other with memorized words to all sorts of songs. The yellow sign was a stroke of genius and a touching gesture. Thanks.

You were so fortunate to get lots of clear weather. I appreciated the pictures of several places I rode by, but only saw like your highest shots outside Skagway. The wet stuff looked all too familiar.

Thank you for taking the time to share this with us, and for doing it with such lilting prose.

Day 12 Watson Lake to StewartThe only thing Watson Lake is famous for is the Signpost Forest, Years ago a homesick soldier posted a sign from his home town. Now there are thousands of them from all over the world.

I brought my own sign too, little different from the others.

Andrew and I talked quite a bit about making the trip up here. Never happened in this world, but I hope he's riding along this morning. Ride on bro'

Lyrics by the Grateful Dead

.Ripple in still water,

When there is no pebble tossed,

Nor wind to blow.

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,

If your cup is full may it be again,

Let it be known there is a fountain,

That was not made by the hands of men.

There is a road, no simple highway,

Between the dawn and the dark of night,

And if you go no one may follow,

That path is for your steps alone

Highlander,

I just now have read your thread. What a great report, words and pictures.

Now I have two reasons to head North.

and you know exactly what they are.

Thanks again Highlander --- :yahoo:

I figure by next summer you'll have developed the itch again...
