The Black Gold Beemers from Edmonton have been hosting this event for several years.

Their website is;Black Gold Beemers

Normally it's held around June 20 - 21 , I believe you have to complete 2000 km (1200 miles) in 24 hrs, collecting bonus points along the route. I think it is a IBA recognized event.

I'm NO expert on the event, but since getting my FJR I have started looking into it and if I can get some time off, I will try my hand at it in June.

Bearly,

The Alberta 2000 is a premiere event. Definitely try and make it if you can, especially if it pops your rally cherry. Good way to go.

I'd go but my sister's wedding is the weekend between Cal 24 and the 1088. If they held it first weekend of July, I'd be ON IT!

Hope you can make it there, you'll have a blast!

I've got a querie into the organizers of the Alberta 2000 for info on the 2006 event. Haven't heard back yet.

George: I would sure like to try it, Have to see how my work stacks up for the summer, it's so freaking busy up here right now and no let up in sight.

Yes, I think I would be interstd, but the link to the Black Gold Beemers doesn't work for me.

I need more info.
