Zilla, I've offered the keys to my FJR to a couple of Harley faithful friends and to a man they've all refused. On the bright side 2 of them are at least honest enough to admit they're afraid they'd like it and sell their Harleys!

Nice report and glad you had a fun and safe trip.

A buddy of mine rode Harley cruisers for years. I would always eat him up when we went on trips. After a while he decided to sell the Harley and try out the sport touring scene. He started off with a cheap Triumph Trophy 900 just to see if he would like that style. Needless to say he liked it. He sold that and went to a BMW K1200GT. That was a nice bike but the maintenance was eating him up. He finally traded that in on a 2013 FJR and has not looked back.

Great read AJ! It's not easy keeping up with the tell of the tale from the open road. I tried a few times and just gave up. I'm always way too tired and/or too thirsty for a cold one or three when I get to my resting stop for the night.

Since I just ran across the thread yesterday I obviously missed a prior thread about T-shirts to help offset the cost of the ride. If you have any left, count me in. It's least I can do to support all that you men (and ladies) in blue do for us each and every day.

Great write up 'Zilla and being home safe and sound is always a great ending!!

Many years ago I really wanted an Anniversary HD Heritage Softtail bad, but couldn't afford it at the time. After reading this, in addition to other stories I've heard over the years, I'm glad that didn't work out.
