Yesterday I rode the Ghost on errands. One stop was at BHMoto to pick up a little piece for the Blue Beast.

While I'm there Alex shows me his new Klim Krios helmet. Carbon Fiber, a RCH over 4#, Transition Lens shield, great vents the XLG fits me perfectly, quick detach strap/latching mechanism. He says quiet, as in quiet. I don't need another helmet, my Neotec is just fine but it weighs a smidge over 5# and we all know how they can be noisy.

Crap, crap, crap!

Alex I hate you! But I want that Klim Helmet, like a boy wants the 17 year old blonde after the prom! Dang you Alex...... Where will I find the $$, not in my plan...... To be continued

The prices I'm seeing are competitive with other topline brands, but no modular version that I can see. I doubt I'll ever own any style helmet other than a modular, but the use of carbon fiber and transition visors will undoubtly increase.

But you, John, should definately buy one, and bring it with you later this month. You know your bride's jewelry will not be an issue. If you spend enough on crap like this, then she and her jewelry will be safely ensconced at home while you are living in a flea bag motel and driving a Pinto.

Hate it when that happens, but I starting to come around to the idea of "you can't take it with you".

Too many shiny metal objects John, good luck and let us know how the new helmet is! LOL

Oh yeah !! I REALLY like the TK1200 in Karbon/red.

Wish we needed new helmets

STOP. Take a deep breath. Now turn around and walk. Just put one foot in front of the other.

The farther away you get, the easier it will become.

The TK1200 tech is the Modular. Retails for $600.
Wow, I did not see that, but now I have and it is your fault.

We're going to the big BMW rally in July and I'm betting Klim will have a vender's spot there. Spousal Unit is already going on and on about her shabby two year old Schubert.

An inmate (local rider)had a non-modular version at a recent tech day, and he mentioned the transition shield was wanted (was not available when hr purchased) but that helmet was extremely light. If I could get a transitions shield for for my C3 I would consider it in a heartbeat. However the C3 is noticeably heavier than the new Klim.

Four years ago I had my heart set on a Arai XD-4 but it didn't fit my head and went with my stand by brand Shoei Hornet DS. Last winter I wanted to replace my deer damaged Hornet DS and had my heart set on the Klim Krios. I stopped to see Alex at the Minneapolis motorcycle show to try on the Klim helmet but had the same results. The Klim Krios was light, looked great, had a lot of great features but it just didn't fit my head. I had to go back to my old standby Shoei helmets for a Hornet X2.

This is exactly what my issue is as well, Years ago when Bruce Porter worked for Arai, i could have gotten a deal on an Arai helmet if I wanted too. Didnt matter, The Arai helmets didnt fit my head. I have a Shoei head and that is what I have had to wear. I am looking for a Dual sport helmet now. Scorpion fits OK, the new HJC fits OK, but the Shoei fits better.

Klim don't make their helmets do they? I had a conversation with a dealer about the Klim helmets about 6 months ago. He picked up several different Klim helmets and said who made each one. If memory serves me correctly, they had multiple people making their helmets. I forget who he said made the Carbon Fiber ones, but he told me and I looked them up when I got home and sure enough, it was the same helmet without the Klim branding on them.

If you really have an interest in that helmet, you might look around and find the original manufacturer. For some reason, I thought it was AGV but I might be wrong. And I could be wrong about it all, I'm just repeating what the dealer told me, which may be completely wrong.

The transition face shield is a really cool feature but as I understand it they'll really only work well for about a year. I always get the transition lenses in my glasses and notice that the speed at which they darken/lighten degrades over time. Please feel free to school me if this has changed.

Lazer helmets seem to make them but are not available in the US at this time. https://www.lazerhelmets.com/featured/

I have tried shoei's and Arai's neither brand fit well. It seems HJC has the shape I am looking for. In fact I just bought another one and out of the box it fit perfect sight unseen.

Has anyone tried the Klim K1R Karbon full face helmet, and if so what is the noise level like compared to a Shoei Qwest.
