Last night I went out to one of the local hangouts for the weekly "bike nite." Mostly Hardley riders, some of which are my friends, and it always upsets them when I show up on my FJR! :D

As I was leaving, parking lot has a good slope to it, I turned too sharp to avoid one of the other bikes, going too slow,

got the bike leaning over the balance point and fell to the left. Caught it with my foot but couldn't hold it, thought I was going to have to dump it, somehow I managed to bounce it around in a circle until I caught it and not drop it. Saved it barely. Now my right shoulder is wasted from holding up the bike, but no damage!!!!!!!!!! Would have been expensive, bags were on! Whew!!!!!!!!!!

Ouch! It's testimony to your skills and physical strength that you're not having to fix the bike right now. Hope the shoulder heals soon.

good to hear that you managed to keep it up and no damage done.

might want to practice a bit for slow turns. Practicing for u-turns will help tremendously.

Yes, folks...the tree is only 19.99....and if you buy today, I'll throw in a free jimmykick foot protector and a gunnysack ghome for the front porch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went over two weeks ago exactly on the left side. Wish I'd had your stamina. Bike was loaded up from a week's vacation, too top heavy. Leaned, couldn't stop it.

Ordered new left mirror. Left bag scratched up. 6 hours in the emergency room. Still limping.

But, gawd, I still love this bike. Lesson learned. Will be more careful next time.

Well, seems I tore something in my shoulder due to this.......almost accident.......saved the bike but off to the

ortho doctor on next Monday. Haven't been able to ride for the last week, supposed to be going to the dragon

the 6th and 7th!

Sorry to hear that. So that question is, given the cost of medical care vs. the cost of bike mechanics, would it have been better and cheaper to save the shoulder and let the bike fall?

I think I would have done the same thing you did though - it most cases your body can heal with just time and little to no money spent.

Damn fjrrr you just added another to the list of walking wounded here  WC tore his left arm up sumpin badly the other day. My bike fell over on me and took out my left foot  though I'm riding now. I'm sensing some kinda trend here :(

These damn machines are dangerous standing still
