Now that I have dropped it twice I am VERY careful about where I stop and ground slope etc. Never in a lot without firm level base. Never parked in neutral. Sliders sure helped the second time.

I also had a very low speed drop, tight right hand turn as I was parking, got my right foot out and was ready for the weight, then heard a loud bang, followed by shear agony and pain as I rolled around a parking lot, could not move at all, lying on my back, called a buddy to come ride my bike home and my wife to get me, they could not get me into our Tahoe, so ambulance ride to the hospital, where I found out I blew out my right hamstring, so three months off work, lots of painful therapy, and am sheduled to return to work Jan 2nd, These FJR's are frigging top heavy, which makes them corner so nice, anyway, soon to return to the saddle.
Advise for all, do not strain your brains, its all paintable, blown hammy's and knees take a long time to heal. Let the darn thing drop, look embarassed for a few moments, it s better than laying there for 45 minutes waiting for help and an ambulance!!

how do they fix a blown hamstring?? sounds awful...

I've never dropped mine......but it felt "shakey" a couple of times. That being said I bought links, and lowered it 1.25", and also took the adjuster out from under the seat. After that I can flat foot it, and feel more confident in it.

That being said, I thought....I don't need it lowered, just needed to get used to it, (came from 2 prior FZ1's) This thing felt like a tank at first. I decided to put the stock links back on, it didn't take long to lower it again I like it MUCH better lowered some. I hate tip toeing when stopped, especially if riding 2 up.
