Wondering how many here made it to Lake George this past week for Americade. I ran into a new black cherry FJR on the way in-rider said he'd just put the first 1000 miles on and came in from Rochester. I actually got tired of seeing a billion pirates with little beanies.

Yup, me too. Rode over to Barre, VT on Thurs and stayed with some friends, then Friday morning, rode down to Rutland to meet up with Snikr and Mrs Snikr and several of their friends. We left for Americade at 9 AM for the 1 hour ride. Our main objective was to hit all the vendors in one day. It was very hot and humid.

We had the pleasure of meeting up with v65 and his lovely wife, Mrs v65, at the food court around 12:30.

By 3:00, the snikrs wimped out, couldn't take the heat anymore, and decided to bug out. By 4:00 I was finished shopping and headed north along the west shore of Lake George, up to Ticonderoga, Rte 17 back into VT, up to near Burlington and then east back to Barre. It was a nice, but very warm ride. Ironically, one of my purchases was an evaporative vest, which was buried deep in the Givi. Seemed like too much trouble to dig it out at the time.

I saw about 20 FJR's on the road to and from Americade, and many more parked among the thousands of bikes.

I keep saying I'd like to go there and spend several days, but I never know where to stay. Guess I need to take another ride down this summer, look around, and make a reservation for next year.

I never did make it to Americade but ended up doing a good portion of CT, MA, and RI. I stopped at Gillette Castle in CT and chatted with the park supervisor who had just returned from Americade on his spanking new '07. He told me that he was surprised at the number of FJR's that were there. I told him to check into the forum for the best information in the world regarding the bike. He comes off of a BMW and a V-Strom.

Yes I made it to Americade with Charlie Hoss and some friends. Even met up with V65 and his wife. All nice people. Charlie was right, the wife and I WIMPED out. The 90 degree heat did us in. Besides I'd bought/seen all I wanted to see. Did see quite a few FJRs on the road and in the parking lot. A good time was had by all. :yahoo:

When I was there on Thursday I saw one Black Cherry. I wonder if it was the same guy. Gillette Castle is pretty cool.

I grew up in Lake George...every year I say I'm going to go up there for this but something else always comes up. I have family there and my friend owns a motel on the lake just north of the village so it would be a cheap trip for me.

I made it up for the day Saturday. Only 400 miles roundtrip for me. Saw maybe 15 FJRs, quite a few of which were the Black Cherry 07 one.

I was there from Wed to Sun am. My first time. We came up from Allentown Pa. area. Put about 1200 miles on the bike. I am VERY grateful that I did the throttle spring release before I left. No numbness at all.

Lots of FJRs up there. I suspect that even though the PDP was a pain, we may have lost a degree of exclusivity. I saw alot of black cherry on the road.

I did the Vermaont high gaps tour plus a few other rides. Beautiful roads!

Whoda thunk there were so many Goldwings in the world??? :dribble:

Well we do have some roads that the same is true. Don't even like to drive my Dakota 4x4 on those.

I saw a load of '06's last year. Took me a while to figure out they were on the test rides. :blushing: Still there were a bunch of Feejers this year.

Where/How do I post them? Don't see a way to add them.I've already uploaded them to Snapfish....
When you are in edit mode you should see a set of icons above the edit window. One of those icons looks like a green thing with a yellow minus sign in it. It is in between two icons which have + signs. That middle one is the insert image tool. Cut the url from the pictiure on Snapfish and paste it into the insert image location.

Or, just post a link to the page on Snapfish where your piccies are.

Yes Sir.

I rode up on Thursday. Got there around 1:00 pm. Bought a few items and continued to Montreal Canada. We actually stopped over night in Plattsburg, NY and continued to Montreal Friday morning. Had lunch in Montreal and continued west towards Niagra Falls. Arrived in Niagra Falls around 9:00pm. Very nice night scenery. We stayed overnight and revisited the Falls during the day. That afternoon we headed back towards Philly arriving home around 9:00pm Saturday night. Turned out to be a nice 1500 mile loop.

While at the Americade I had a Superbrace installed and picked up some Kuryakun pegs for a Wild Bill mount.
