Midnight Sun Rider

Well a buddy and myself left yesterday on the new FJR's for the first of many longer rides. Well left Anchorage in the morning, and the temp was 34 degress. Alittle chilly, but the roads where clear and temp would rise. We headed south out of town to Girdwood about 40 miles out of town, and topped off the tanks. From there we continued south through Thompson pass, where a group of snowmobilers where of loading there sleds to do some ridding in the pass. By that time the temp had raised to 38 degress. As we continued south into the mountains and got away from the water the temp just kept coming up, and the sun was great. It was a beautiful clear day, and the ride to Kenai was wonderful. We stopped in Kenai to see a couple of friends of ours, and then continued south to Homer. We rode 288 miles on the first day to Homer where we spent the night at some friends house we had not seen in awhile. By the time we got into Homer in was 61* out. We visited with friends all night, and left in the morning to head back to Anchorage. It was another beautiful ride, althought the temp only got to 59* and the wind in the inlet coming back was a little rough. We put a total of 553 miles on the bikes in two days. The ridding in Alaska is beautiful, and I will enjoy the rest of the small summer we have here. If any of you guys get up here to do any ridding please look me up.
