It IS still closed. I didn't believe the signs when I went up there in August. Oh well, took the opportunity to stop at the Mt. Wilson Observatory. Be careful on that stretch of road!

Be careful any where near the Crest. CHP and sherrifs are patrolling aggressively and citing for illegal pipes, slip ons, turn signals, etc. Basically trying to earn money for Arnold. Multiple speed traps.
I was stopped several weeks ago. The wet-behind-the-ears new CHP tried to tell me my "sportbike" was in violation of several laws. I pointed out my stock exhaust, stock turn signals, and the rest of my street legal FJR complete with saddle bags. I also flashed my medical license and hospital badges. He gave me a half-*** apology and proceded to pull someone over before I could even get my gear back on. Meter Maids of the Freeway! :bleh:
My buddies and I have been riding Big Tunjuga Canyon up and over to Palmdale regularly. MileHigh cafe is a nice ride from Sunland and is poorly patrolled by LEOS.
