In all cases, we will meet at the Shell Station at the NW corner of Hwy 15 and Hwy 79 S. It's large, has coffee and lots of gas (the station across the street is always cheaper).

KSU: 8:30 AM

Since I've never done this route before, can anyone make some suggestions on places to have lunch and possible a places to stop for dessert?

I hate to give you'll too many choices... Actually, I hate to give you any choices at all but, I’m trying to be a bit more accommodating than normal. We'll see how long this lasts.

For those coming from other locations than the San Diego, South Riverside area, suggest pickup locations along the way.

Our lunch stop will be determined on the route chosen.

So that there’s no misunderstanding, this ride is not in competition with Fairlane’s Friday, 5/29 ride. This ride is for those of us who have jobs.

Anyways, make your choice and LET'S RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will post the riders on this thread.

I did a recon ride yesterday up the 15 to the 138 and across the 2. When I got to La Canada I gassed up, turned around and rode the same route backward home. 220 miles from Corona round trip.

The CHP were out in force. I saw at least 12 of them thruought the day.

The new bridge

What time do we meet at the Temecula Shell station?
:dntknw:

For those traveling north on I-15 you get off at Temecula Pkwy (hwy 79), turn left and go under the freeway about a block and the shell station is on the right. No, the gas at the Arco station across the street is more.

Here is the 1st girder our company built being delivered for the now completed bridge.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! The ARCO is ALWAYS cheaper than the Shell.

We'll set the meet up time on Wednesday or Thursday when we close the poll for the route.

Yea. I had heard the same thing about the cops patrolling the area. I'm planning a "speed limit" ride.

If anyone wants to pass me, please let me know and I'll gladly wave you on.

I'm in, my wife may join me as well (riding pillion) if grand parents will watch one of the children...

Route - I like longer (and am using this as a shake-down ride for my Lap of California ride later in June) though we do have a dinner appt back in Oceanside Sat evening (not at our house), so... depends on how late things run as to how long we stay with the group.

There is a place in wrightwood that has pretty good food:

Evergreen Cafe & Racoon Saloon‎ - more info »

1269 Evergreen Rd, Wrightwood, CA‎ - (760) 249-6393‎

There is also Newcombs Ranch up the road but that place is pretty packed with bikes on the weekend and will probably take forever to eat there.

Hurry up and post a route so I can pick a spot to meet the group.

I was looking at possible routes. For those of us coming from the north/orange county we could meet around the 210/30 (waterman exit) there is a valero gas station right next to the offramp. Have lunch in Wrightwood and when we get to La Canada everyone can decide on which way they want to go home. What do you think? We can always go up the 38 and thru Big Bear and across to Angeles Crest if everyone wants to do more miles :clapping:

route idea

OK!!!!!!!!!!! The route is set as: Hwy 15 N to 215 N 259 N to 30th St. W to 18 (Waterman Ave./ Rim of the World Hwy) N to 138 W to 2 W 5 S and home. Roughly 275 miles to Oceanside. However, we will leave the option to continue through to Malibu if the desire exists. If others want, they can keep it to this posted route to get home earlier.

Based on the length of this ride, we'll leave the restaurant a bit loose-goosey. We will choose one based on our whereabouts around noon.

For those of you coming from the north/orange county area, meet us at the Waterman exit - approximately 1.5 miles east of the intersection of Hwy 259 and Hwy. 30. There is a Valero gas station right next to the off ramp (offered by "ynotride"). From a Googe of that intersection, it appears to be on the SW corner.

Temecula: KSU at 8:30 AM

Valero Gas Station: KSU at 9:30 AM
