Does it seem like the rest of the world is in slow motion when on the FJR? Especially pulling away from lights, I keep willing the people in front of me to accelerate already!

I'm like that in my company truck, a 4-cyl S10 that can't get out of its own way, much less on the FJR. I keep wondering if people really just think that much slower.

"hey . . . . . . . . . .. it's . . . . . . . . . . . green . . . . . . . . . . . . I . . . . . should . . . . . . . probably . . . . . . . . go . . . . . soon"

Here in the state of "my sister is my child's mother, and probably my cousin, too" if you are #6 in line at a red light, you'll be there for another cycle. Almost always takes up an entire green-yellow-red cycle to simply get 5 cars across an intersection.

Too many folks paying more attention to their corrupted DNA and/or cellphones, to notice when the 4 cars in front of them have actually moved.

Of course, the FJR, and most any bike, does greatly blur space and time when compared to a cage at a red light.

It's not just you! I don't like rding behind someone even if they are doing the speed limit (or a little more)! And what REALLY pisses me off is when I ride up to the only twisties within an hour from me and theres some ******* on a HD doing 35 in a 35 corner! What the hell!?!?! Don't they know that means double?

The only good thing about the God forsaken state of Kaleefornia is, you can white line to the front at lights......yes, and I do just about every one'em..........and when it turns green the cars just fade out in the mirrors......it's not just you.......all ahead warp speed..........

It ain't just on the Feejer. Here in Collect-a-Cut, drivers are too busy texting, sexting, e-mailing, changing radio stations, or doing whatever the heck they are doing instead of Job One: driving the damn car! When you toot the horn to remind them that they really should move along, you tend to get glares, at best. Hell, this morning I was riding my bicycle and stopped behind a car at a light and had the same thing -- but no horn to blast at them. Problem on the Feejer (or any bike) is that you're far more aware of the environment than in a cage, so the inconsideration and self-centeredness of other drivers is even more apparent.

But, once you're free of them . . . :D

I noticed while in Europe many years ago that everyone tended to leave a light packed together like a train and then picked up their spacing once well underway.

The cutoff point for traffic flow was usually well after the light had changed and already-on-the-move cross traffic about to broadside the next vehicle that didn't yield.

Say what you will about the French but they really know how to maximize traffic flow.
