Some pretty harsh words for a fellow rider. I was on the other end of a post like this before I joined when my How to Crash an FJR video on YouTube was discovered.

It's possible the guy wasn't taking a "line" or trying to pass on the outside, but looking for an exit path when he came in too hot and had a car in front. I suppose it's obvious he was riding over his abilities. I don't know....

It just surprises me sometimes the way we eat our own. Anyway, I'm glad the guy's okay.

WTF??? I suppose it's possible to take a stupider line, but the chances of him riding that one out were about zero. WTF goes through some people's minds?

Had a conversation the other day with a friend about the limitations of the terms "normal" and "insane". His point was that everyone probably processes thoughts differently, so a more useful descriptor is "functional": can a person function in society, and how well? Applying that to motorcycling, I'd say that the featured rider in that video won't be a fellow rider for long -- his ability to function in the most important realm (staying on two wheels and avoiding immovable objects) is seriously limited.

One thing about it if he keeps riding this way we won't have to worry about his gene pool spreading.

Me nominate him for the 2006 Darwin Award!
doesn't qualify. a candiudate can't have survived.

all i can say about that video that hasn't already been said? it's over exposed. close down the f-stop a little next time.

Guy's like that is what give us all a bad rap for riding motorcycle....
+1000.... what a complete and total 'Tard!

If sportbikers who ride like that can't (or won't) take it to the track, they better learn to ride on more desolate roads that are devoid of any traffic! They are doing us ALL a dis-service by riding like this in proximity of other vehicles....

JB,

I'm sorry to disagree with you here (No, I'm Not  ), But he was a F&%king moron!. I don't care WHAT your abilities are or what LINE you think you have. You DON"T pass a car on a blind turn on a PUBLIC road. That was (attempted) track riding.

We all F-up from time to time, blow a line, lose concentration, lose traction, and crash for whatever reason. He was purposefully attempting something that should only be done on a track. He gets an :asshat2: from me

JB-

I have seen your wreck vid and while unfortunate, it wasnt while doing something stupid like this, it was a simple accident. I hate to see riders such as yourself get hurt when something breaks or somthing unfortunate like algae causes your bike to go down but this.........

These guys with their bikes parked on the curb are obviusly looking to practice their track runs on a public street...thank goodness no carload of people coming from the other direction swerved to miss them and hit something else head on.

Sure looks like Mulholland Highway, above the old Rock Store, and the place just invites this type of stupid ****. I've seen the same on the Dragon and a few other "big name" places. The article about the Cannonball in Europe is going to encourage some momentary stupidity to create more Darwin recipients.

The roads are great. The problem is that all those guys parked in the curve and taking the videos encourage the riders to think they can be Rossi, which is peer pressure to do the WRONG thing. I was there once and don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed fracturing a few speed limits on my Duck and FJR. But I woke up and the limit comes when I'm not riding my own ride and other people are around. And yes, I have gotten people pissed off at me at gas stops for having the balls to say "that was stupid" and stop being a promoter! The problem and the fix is up to US.

Bob

I'm all for natural selection. It's one way to slim the herd and keep the dumb population down.

Youse guys are way to hard on the chump....he was just blowin off a bit-o-steam........

Anyone who is riding knee down on a public road is an idiot :******: ...plain & simple (regardless of lines taken)...why?...because your not leaving any room for errors....other bikes, cars, stray dogs, forest rats etc....& if you disagree...please let me know...I'll make a fortune with putting life insurance on you :rip_1: .... & we're not even talking about the **** reputation you give all other riders in "John Q Publics eyes".....there....rant over.....
