Timely conversation. My 2nd CCT rev 0, is now making noise. I've been just running it... Need to call local dealer.

Does someone have a sound file for a faulty CCT? I had let mine set for a few weeks while I rode my other bike and had a bad injector clatter from a bad tank of gas along coupled with a weak battery and low idle. Seafoam and another tank of gas later and all is fine....but....I did think of the CCT at first. I am just curious what the other problem sounds like.

I just finally had my valves adjusted after 65,000 miles. Two were at the bottom of their limit, .006 but the others were all at .008 or .009. After reading all the CCT threads, I had them order me one and replace it while they were there. I requested an APE unit and they showed me a box with 6 failed untis from them. They then said to go with the OEM CCT. I did and the old one had about 75% of the tension of the new one. I now tell everyone who has over 50,000 miles to go ahead and change it out at their next valve adjustment. I DO NOT recommend waiting 65,000 miles for the first adjustment. I was very lucky and never had any noise issues at all. YMMV

No **** dude!

Geeze, that's just crazy in my not so humble opinion. I skip a lot of maintenance, but not the valve checks. Every 27-30k.

As for the CCT, why not just wait until it starts make noise? I had 110k on my first, and now have 105k on my second. Of course if you in the area anyways, and with the new revised OEM CCT, then I could see it.
