I am really unimpressed with the stock subframe on the genII's. Whether from the casting of the subframe or the plastic of the grab handles, it should hold up better than it does. I just got the fjr back together and seems the improvements have made a big difference. Only time will tell though. Personally, after seeing what I saw riding two up with using a trunk as a backrest I would be very concerned with using a stock setup. It's probably just me but I can't stop feeling that I was really lucky or more likely my better half was really lucky. Sorry to bring this up again but after seeing my issue and some others from the gen I and II's I think the design should have been improved from the factory for very little to no cost. Keep an eye on it if you are riding two up.
