Sorry bout this, but I gotta ask! So, here goes. Changed the oil about 1600+ miles back. Used a premeasured 4 liter bottle of Golden Spectro synblend and a Yamaha filter. Oil level in sight glass was at upper mark-perfect, and has been until just the past couple days. Now while ck'ing each morning before ride into work, while still on center stand-just this week, oil level is above the high mark :eh: matter of fact the whole sight glass is full of oil :eh: does anyone elses feejer make oil besides mine? Anybody got any suggetions on how/why this has happened all of a sudden and if I should go in and drain a little? I am planning a 300 mile ride Friday to attend AMA at Barber and I want to make sure I don't cause any problems w/my bike. Just sump'n kinda strange, I have not had this happen before

If you put in the correct amount, no worry. The level in the sight glass tends to go all over the place, and should be checked only after the bike has been run for a bit then shut off.

Procreation. The gestation period for synthetic blends is about 1500 miles. :devilsmiley:

When I picked my bike up on the 8th, I could see the top of the oil in the sight glass - now it is full.

Like Geezer says - it's procreation. Been known to happen. :agent:

Sell your bike.....it's a monster....sell it to the motor oil company.....they can recover and sell the oil that your scoot is "making". Now you can retire to new jersey or milwaukee or whatever hell you are looking forward too...... ;)

Not unusual for sight glass to fluctuate a bit. Might depend some on temperature and how long you wait after shutting down, allowing oil to drip off all the top end parts.

Easiest fix is to stop checking your oil so much. Check it when you change it. If it doesn't leak onto the ground or oome out the back in a big cloud, then it's still in there someplace. Also, there's a dummy light for low oil, so if ya burn it off slowly then the light comes on when you're down a quart or so.

Don't have mine yet so I can't check, could oil be draining back out of the filter after shut down???
