Well not to long ago, mother nature came calling and I was not home.. She did manage to have me stranded in drenching rain fall and send a lightning bolt to my homestead....

That managed to destroy a lot of my property and fried my well pump etc, So we had another well drilled and and the result of that was that we just had too much sand in the water, we dealt with that crap since Aug. 16th until just last week... We would up having to hire another drilling company and had them do a second new well and close the well that wasn't working properly. So we were back in the water for less then a week. We had numerous things ruined and replaced or repaired over the last 6 months. All seemed to be right with the universe until last Tuesday evening.... I was sitting in the living room and knew the storms were headed in our direction. I will say that having been living here for the past two years this is the first time that I felt the need to take precautions, many times I have just ignored the warnings feeling that it was safe to do so, but this time I felt something, I do not know what it was, but call it a gut feeling, so we gathered things important papers etc and moved everything to our central location in the house....

Now as I sat here for about three or so hrs the storms were just wrecking havoc everywhere they were traveling through....

So as I was sitting in the living room and Teresa was laying in the bed, you could just feel it was coming, so right as I got up to move the TV went out then the power, Teresa said she could here it coming as it a woke her... That whistling sound that everyone that has heard it before knows the sound.....

So as we are in the hall wall in the center of the house supported by the two load baring walls and with all the room closed to prevent glass from exploding into us... Here it came... First you could just here it whistling through, then some loud and I mean loud booms!

Then quite, even though the wind was still howling around us.....

So out the front door I look and dam it last Aug. 16 My favorite 200 foot Blue Spruce was split from top to bottom... And now she came back to claim my favorite tree left in the front yard...

Well we were lucky not hurt but she sure did make a mess AGAIN!

So, no riding this weekend for me!!!!!

From what the news has been showing, consider yourself lucky! That was hard to read, knowing how the end might look. Good to hear you're still healthy and have a roof overhead.

Sadness for all those less fortunate through those storms. Mother Nature can be as brutal as she can be beautiful. That's probably why it got that name, so we could blame it on a woman....
