I've come across a couple Deadheads while posting here...any others out there?

...I know you rider, you're gonna miss me when I'm gone

He was right. :sadsmiley02:

The XM receiver on my FJR is perpetually tuned to channel 57, The Dead channel. After the merger with Sirius it's the only channel worth listening to. In fact, this week is Jerry Week in honor of his August 1st birthday.

I know Reno John is also a Deadhead.

Well, I do not consider myself to be a Deadhead. As Groucho Marx said, I don't care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members (although I do make an exception for the crowd here).

However, I lived in Berkeley in the late 60's/early 70's and saw Jerry and the boys many times at the Filmore, the Old Filmore and at Winterland. I also went to shows at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, UC Santa Barbara and Pauly Pavillion. My IPod riding mix includes Estimated Prophet, the acoustic version of The Race is On, and Terrrapin Station. Uncle John's Band, Mexicali Blues and St. Stephen are on there, too.

Difficult not to twist the throttle a bit when St. Stephen kicks into gear isn't it?

Not a true Deadhead, but I do like their music a lot, have (almost) all of their recordings on CD, everything ripped to MP3 and on my riding playlist.

I'm an FJR owner and fan of the Dead. Asking which is my favorite Dead tune is like asking which Beatles song is my favorite. Can't hardly do it, though I am particularly fond of "Eyes of the World." My adopted brother, Lib Caldwell, rides an FJR and is one of the finest guitar players I've ever had the privilege of listening to. Just so happens bands he's played in - most currently (and appropriately) The Fossils - do a lot of Grateful Dead. Libby could have filled in for Jerry Garcia...or Clapton or Santana, for that matter. The Dead's stuff is pretty timeless and will hold up well over the decades, maybe over the centuries.

On Jesse aluminum pannier on my GS it reads: "Who are the Grateful Dead and why do they keep following me around!?!?"

First saw the Grateful Dead in January of 1969 at The Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. I think Joseph and I shared a joint together on the red velvet couches at the back of the hall. Was briefly stationed at Army Presidio and I still love that music!!!

Joseph, who in the hell is Mac fella that dcarver is referring to? Don't remember him. Do remember Dave: Dave's not here!

I was part owner of this rockin, kick-*** classic acro Cub in the 90s.

It's hard to see and I can't find better pics, but on the vertical stabilizer (tail feathers) is painted the Steal Your Face logo. On the opposite side there were 3 Dancing Bears.

Damn, I miss that crazy fun aeroplane.

Yuck. One of the most over-rated groups of the century IMHO. Too many rabid fanboyz I've met thought they were the beginning and end of music, life, God, everything, and took serious offense at any suggestion this might not be as the universe intended. Not a fan base, more a cult.

Have you ever listened to them completly sober? Those songs are better when your high as ****...

I thought that was Woody Allen? Woody ripped-off Groucho?!?! What a jip

I'm 10 years too young to be a deadhead but what the hell - peace & love, man

Although Woody does use that line in the opening monologue of Annie Hall, Groucho said it (in various permutations) much earlier (and often).

I guess dating young teens isn't Woody's only shortcoming...

Been a Deadhead since the Warlock days .. I'm even in the crowd in the "Touch of Grey" video shot a t Laguna Seca

I've made 2 instruments inspired by them as well

From some time in 1998 or 1999
