Any Riders From Kansas City Area

Looking for some people who like to ride together in a calm mello fashion.

There are some ideas here now. Are you planning a get together??

If the schedule is right I'm in....half day, full day, Saturday, Sunday. I'm out of commission last weekend in June and last weekend in July but with appropriate notice I might make any other time work.

+1 - last weekend June, first weekend July are busy for me. Every weekend between now and July 11 is actually full already.

Otherwise If it's on a Saturday/Sunday I'll try to make it.

For Jay, Jack, Galaxy (?), Glory, Twisted, dbx, and any other forum members in "the area":

anyone want to commit to some ride of some sort on 7/11? That is one week after 4th of July and two weeks before I head out of town.

Maybe respond: yes available,

no not available,

yes but prefer AM only,

yes but prefer PM only,

yes and all day (like 9-5?) is fine.

Just keep in mind that a half day trip like three hours really doesn't get us far enough out of town traffic and into some interesting roads. My experience is that to access some nice roads (by flatlander's standards) you need to invest about 75 miles.

Judging by the responses we could next determine distance, direction, meeting time/place, stops, etc.

I'm penciled in for the Chicago-area gathering, assuming they get people signed up for the 11th. I kinda committed there first so I'll have to see what they come up with.

I'll be game for a ride. A 3hr jaunt to get to wherever we're meeting and riding around for a few hours doesn't bother me. I have a buddy in the KC area where I might be able to get some floor space to sleep.

What about the 18th?

We'll see what people say. I'd prefer the 11th over the 18th since that is the last weekend I'll have at home before I leave town for over a week. Yard stuff, home stuff, wife stuff is all easier if I am around the weekend of the 18th. But, that said, we'll see what the overall picture looks like. If all are available for 18th I'd be up to helping plan and maybe starting out and then turning back for a partial day ride for me.
