I recently just moved back to Houston, and started a new job that allows me some time to actually ride my bike again. I am looking for some good day trips around SE Tex, or some weekend trips to Central Texas, or any other good suggestions. Anyone who wants to get together and ride, let me know. Are there any Houston based FJR groups? The only ones I have seen posted are in the DFW area. Hopefully the weather will break soon, but I don't mind a little cold or rain (little being the key).

Bill, I'm from the DFW area but currently working on a project in Houston so I'm there Sunday night through Thurday afternoons. When the weather gets a little more predictable, I might actually do the commute a few times on my bike so maybe we could get together sometime for an evening ride or something. As far as routes go, send me a PM with your email address and I'll see if I can't send you some Houston area routes I've picked up along the way.

Put your rain pants on....some houston folk have seen some mighty rough weather back from wfo5.

Yeah I never leave without my rain gear. Every trip I take seems to end up with a ride home in torrential downpours and high winds. I hope that doesn't continue, because I am planning on going to wfo6, and 1500mi home in the rain would suck!

FJRMGM, thanks for the info on the twtex site. I took a look and it looks solid, but I haven't had much time to look around.
