40 years later, and still one of the most significant events in human history, when ". . .men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon. . ."

Found a page of pic links here.

I remember staying up all night to watch the TV coverage on my 20" black and white "portable" TV, my most prized possession, since it actually lived in my room, and I had exclusive access to it. Pretty cool for a 12-year-old in 1969!!!

I remember listening to Walter Cronkite, sitting in front of the black and white TV with my parents and sister. It was a big discussion topic in school. I was almost 8 years old.

I wish I would've been older so I could've recognized what a truly fantastic engineering achievement it was and is.

Yep! 11 years old. I remember watching it on our B&W Motorola. I was the only one in the family that was glued to the TV.

I was disappointed that it didn't happen on my 9th birthday. Wow, 40 years ago already...

I remember back then, how my grandpa would mention how much better the fishing was twenty years ago, and it seemed like ancient history to me. Now, I'm talkin' the "30 years ago" stuff, like I've been driving now for 33 years, and out of school for 31....

Family (Mom, Dad, Bro) all stuck around the TV. I think I was about eleven. I ran outside after he had stepped down and honked the horn of my Dad's Camero repeatedly.

It was just a few months before my 9th birthday, but I remember a BBQ gathering at our neighbor's house with two or three families. We all sat around the living room, awestruck, watching the B&W TV in disbelief.

I had just turned 14. The whole family sat around the t.v. for a week watching intently everything that was shown. And to find out it was all filmed in Arizona, what a hoax. :)

T'was the summer before 1st grade, and I do remember watching this with my mom.

I believe that moment was shared with the moment that Iggy was conceived.

The video footage of each event still brings a tear to the eye of many.

I member. They herded us all into the auditorium and two BIG 24 inch screen TV's set up so we could watch it.

I'd just turned 4 and I definitely remember it. I even remember being upset that the video was such poor quality.

I should get out my old t-shirt that says "My Parents Ran The Space Program and All I Got Was An Expensive Lawn Ornament" with a pic of the Saturn V on it's side at KSC

I got ripped off. We can buy tickets to orbit, but we have to buy 'em from the Russians. :-(

Sitting in the neighborhood bar in Kitanagagusku-san, Okinawa, the bar owner yelled at everyone to be quiet and watch the TV, then bought a round for the house. Unless you knew how cheap the old bastage was, you didn't realize what an monumental event that was.
