My son and I will be there, now probably Friday afternoon.

There're NOVA and MD groups from ADVRider.com Regional Forums who are meeting nearby for breakfast before and beers after.

Saturday, maybe, if I can shake this miserable cold. Probably drive to Shady Grove and take Metro rail. Don't know about weekends, but parking in D.C. is ridiculous on weekdays

I'll be taking my sons and 2 friends down Sunday. Hitting the Metro at Shady Grove then you have to change to the orange line I think.

Heading up there in a little while. Taking the bike too!
Nice ride up there. About 55 degrees. Only thing was finding a place to park as there is no parking at the convention center.

Pretty good show. Lots of stuff, lots of bikes. Bought a new jacket for the wife too.

I just saw on the news that if you get on the Metro at Shady Grove you will be transferred to a bus because of maintenance around the White Flint section. Oh what a joy that will be.

Took my 5 year old daughter. She got in free. I parked at work-two metro stops away. I would say it was more crowded than last year. But, no BMW presence. Everybody else, though.

Well we had a good time and my son scored his first set of gear. He got a nice Joe Rocket leather jacket, A Scorpion full face helmet and a Reflective vest which is required on base. 20% off each item at the Coleman power sports display. I've seen better shows but we got what we needed and hit a Pho place in Rockville afterwards. mmmmmmmm :yahoo:

Only 1 silver FJR was on display. I'm not sure what year it was.

I am surprised we didn't run into you Henry! That was about the time we left. Did you ride the bike up? So did you buy anything?

I had to chuckle at the side bags on most of the bikes in there. The tops were all scuffed from the dweebs that don't know how to mount a bike!

No didn't ride because i know about the parking around there. Drove the car to the Suitland Station.

Only thing i bought was an over priced sandwich. Most of the items at these shows are normally over priced but it's nice to try stuff on and get it cheaper elsewhere. If you look real hard you can find a bargain here or there, but if you need something right now you can normally find it. One of these days i'm gonna get there early and get the custom ear plugs done...

No doubt you need to know youor prices to know if you are getting a deal. I think we did well on the jacket we bought for Janet. I got lucky parking. I found a spot next to the curb just beyond the convention center, so we were only about 400' away. Would have been very different if we caged it. I would have done the same as you and done metro. Would have been Springfield, though.
