For my nickel's worth, I went last year. Chilly and rainy, yes, but the weather was about the best part. The event itself was a big zero as far as I was concerned. I was riding a Suzuki V-twin (Volusia) so I guess I fitted in with the majority in that respect. No sport bikes, no FJRs or much of anything but HDs and HD clones. Noisy damn Harleys up and down all the streets in town all night long, crappy motels charging well above their usual rate, and damn few rooms to be had at that. Vendor booths selling everything in leather, embroidered patches, gaudy Harley bling, sleazy t-shirts, and about TWO DOZEN booths where you could get tattooed, and every damn one of them was busy! Won't be going back, as you can maybe guess. Plus, it's in
Reno.
