Hey all. Wondering if anyone is heading to Street Vibrations this year. I went last year but the weather was off and on rain and snow. This is my second year going. I was hoping to see some Fjrs out there.

It set for Sept 24th thru the 28th. I will be going for the weekend. Riding out on friday returning on monday. I know this is mostly a Harley event but some the the rides they plan during the event are cool.

For my nickel's worth, I went last year. Chilly and rainy, yes, but the weather was about the best part. The event itself was a big zero as far as I was concerned. I was riding a Suzuki V-twin (Volusia) so I guess I fitted in with the majority in that respect. No sport bikes, no FJRs or much of anything but HDs and HD clones. Noisy damn Harleys up and down all the streets in town all night long, crappy motels charging well above their usual rate, and damn few rooms to be had at that. Vendor booths selling everything in leather, embroidered patches, gaudy Harley bling, sleazy t-shirts, and about TWO DOZEN booths where you could get tattooed, and every damn one of them was busy! Won't be going back, as you can maybe guess. Plus, it's in Reno. :puke:

Ya probably not the type of event for a sport bike to go to and hang out. I have been for the last 9-10 years in a row but I also have a fully customized Road King to take :) and hang out with the Noisy damn Harley Riding sleazy t-shirt wearing people that party all night....Heck you think this event is wild try going to the Virginia City Grand Prix..it's 10x wilder. Funny in all the years going to Street Vibrations I have yet to get a tattoo.I think you would like a day ride to Virginia City on Saturday, thats the crux of the event. Make sure to bring a camera

I think most of the people in the area will be going down to Santa Barbara for Twowheelnut's memorial service that weekend.

Any one know if there are still rooms available down south for the TWN ride
I believe Patty just booked ten more at the Holiday Inn, under 'Tim Bates Memorial Group' . Gotta call by phone to get the group rate. It's not available on-line, nor can you book a single night on line.
