I sent my paperwork in a couple weeks ago. I'm going to ride the 24 hr rally from Columbus, GA. Anyone else riding it this year? This will be my first experience with the Void, any tips or things I should watch out for? What were the sucker bonii in the past? Just fishing for any information really...

Yes. I rode it last year also. I'll be starting in Columbus along with Borrec. A great rally with lots of fun. A sucker bonus is only a sucker bonus to the rider who can't do it in time. See you in Lynchburg at the finish.

I'll be starting out of Harrisburg. Good rallymasters and experienced staff, so you'll like this one. I can't think of any real obvious sucker boni from previous years, but they've got a sense of humor so I suppose one could pop up.

No Sucker bonus or real catches for riders, if it's the same as last time every rider gets the same pack but the points values are different depending on where you start. So there'll probably be a few you can't make from your starting location, worth keeping that in mind.

Last year there were quite a few 'wild cards', get a picture of some roadkill, a salvation army store, a picture of your bike at a Laundromat with a 'just married' sign', a John Deer dealership etc etc etc so be prepared to get creative whilst planning and/or on the road but they run a great event and it's always a good party to close the season out with.

Have fun

Andy

PS it can be cold that time of year in VA so remember your electrics!

I'm not waiting for people to ask. I'm cutting straight to the bragging.

Void 4 results.

Rack up yet another win for Team FJR! That's me on the top of the Harrisburg list, snagging my maiden victory. :yahoo: It took me 11 rallies to do it -- 5 on the FJR -- but I finally got to take some hardware home.

Think we should let some of those other guys win now and then, just to keep them interested? ;)

Great job Squeezer! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

I hope you can share a ride report with the rest of us soon.

Oh, and to add to the FJR glory...

un4gvn, who started this thread, snagged a 3rd place finish out of the Columbus, GA, starting group in his very first rally. :yahoo:

Congrats, Ashley, and I'm sorry I didn't track you down to say hello.

And a hell of a great time!!! Cograts to you as well. Even if you had come tracked me down, i met soooo many people that all the faces and names are a blur now. Did you see Catfish there? I saw his bike, but didn't get to meet him either.

I beleive it was the begining to a new addiction for me, going to have to watch out for me in the future rallies : )

Yo, Mike! Oh, man, what a spacehead I am for not mentioning you before. Sorry about that. Yeah, we owned 'em.

And I agree that it keeps getting better. I'm not a plank owner, but I ran Void 2, 3, and 4. Scott and Gary put on an excellent show.

And un4gvn -- Catfish was there. Remember the guy with the long hair and his girlfriend that were introduced as the top (and only) two-up team starting out of PA? Catfish is that guy.

I know the fish, met him a few years back at his work on LI and stay in touch now and again. If you ever need any farkles he's the man, farklemasters.com. His wifes name is Jamie ans she may be the coolest school teacher I know.

To all the FJR riders in this rally, you congrats. I took 4th place out of the Columbus group and rode the Wing this time. While I don't feel the the bike made any difference in my performance during the rally, their were times I was wishing for the FJR. Those hills through Kentucky and West Va were so much fun. As I was leaning over at .... mph I'm thinking I could do this sweeper at least 20 mph faster on the FJR. However, after 2300 miles over the long weekend that Wing sure is smoother and less tiresome.
