I bought a salvage bike..fjr 03 with almost NO miles on it...still had dealer plate on back from South Bay Motorsports. I phoned them thinking it was wrecked as a demo but they said it was sold, but wouldn't give up the name. Just curious about its actual miles (still nubs on the tires) but LCD was cracked on odo. I think it was the 79th bike here in N.America serial number ends in 000079. thanks

How much did you pay...?

I saw somewhere on a board that a guy totally fixed an 03 up and documented it...

$4700 with two new sides, a new tank, and a few other misc. parts. the bike had been bought from insurance and guy that bought it couldn't find used parts so he had to let it go (to me!). Too bad he didn't know about University MOtors deal. I think for another thousand with two used bags, new front plastics, used left exhaust , used speedo it will be perfect. so $5700 U.S. which by the time I drove down to Illinois to get it and all is said and done about $7000 Cdn. They sell for twice that here, used...so I'm thinking I made out all right. the only riding of it I have done is around the neighbourhood with my very LARGE naked bike, stripped of everything.

Congrats!
The frame wasn't tweaked, was it?

The rebuild of the '03 that was documented was done by Dale Wilson.
Which was a gift from his admirers, in which I participated, as did many here, one board and many, many posts ago.... ;)

No i have had it up there and everything seems to run true and FAST!! Can't wait to get it together to ride! I v strom it to work everyday 200km return, but the FJR won't take its place b/c i have about 10 km of gravel in that equation. But the trip to the motogp this past summer would have been a good test of it, with lolo pass, etc. that we hit.
