Looking to sit on a bike w/stock suspension(not lowered) with a Russell seat on it to see if I can reach the ground. Any takers? Can meet you some where and buy you your favorite beverage for the inconvenience!

Thanks,

Josh

If you are inseam-challenged? There are those who've had theirs made narrower in the front so they can easily put their feet down.

Mike,

I appreciate the insight, and I was aware of that. I'd still like to sit on a "normal" one so I can have a better idea of what modifications would be needed if any and so I can better describe to Russell what I want.

Thanks,

Josh

I've got one, as does my partner, COSFJR, so you could test out two different ones. Problem is, I hurt my right wrist while on the dual sports today. Doc says I have to rest and not do anything fun for 7-10 days :(

So, you can either come down to Colorado Springs, or wait until I heal up.

I was in Colorado a couple of weeks ago and will be again on Sept 6th to meet up in Colorado Springs for the ride to Taos.

Of course you realize that RDL's are built to the person, yes? Mine is one I bought used here a yr or so back and it's a bit tall for me also, but other than that it is oh so much better for those long days in the saddle...

phroenips,

Thanks for the offer! I could definitely ride down to the Springs, but since I'm not in a hurry as I'll probably wait till the group buy to get one, if it happens again.... maybe, once your wrist heals we can meet up and do some riding as well. My trip from Woodland park up to Deckers got cut short by snow last time I tried it, so maybe something like that would work? I'm free to ride pretty much any weekend, except for Labor Day weekend obviously. Let me know your schedule. I can ride down to the Springs while you are injured and bring you some medicinal beverages, or we can go ride sometime. Your choice! Let me know your schedule!

fljab,

Thank you for the offer, but on the 6th, I will have my butt firmly planted in my office chair, unfortunately. Have fun in Taos! Hopefully you can make it again next year to SW-FOG, as from the talk from beemerdons, the next one I will be able to make! Hopefully I'll see you there! And yes, I do realize they are built to the person, but I also realize their general shape is fairly consistent, from the reading on their website, so if I'm not even close on someone elses, it is unlikely that one could be built with a substantial difference to make it work.

Thanks,

Josh

Josh,

You are welcome to come and give my bike a test sit. It has the Russell Day Long, and has not been lowered. I think we are not too far from each other. Send me a PM and we can meet up some time.

John
