I've just signed up to play Fantasy Road Race 2009:

https://mcn.fantasyleague.com

There's a top prize of a Yamaha R6!

Similar to other Fantasy Leagues, you select a motorcycle team consisting of six riders - two from each classification of MotoGP, World Superbikes and British Superbikes - all from your budget of £10 million.

If you join the "Your Bike Life Racers!", you could win *$100*, among other prizes, if you win the league!

You can get more details from this link.

It sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

Cool! Sounds fun and I'll join in. I'll probably get to it this weekend. Too bad us US folks can't win the R6, but no big deal.

The best thing: I didn't realize the first WSBK Superpole is actually this month. That makes the snow falling outside look not quite so bad. It's almost racing season! :yahoo:

Okay, I'm in and I've applied for membership in your private league, Shawn. My team name is HM Faceplant. :D

I've got all my money in MotoGP and WSBK -- just running a couple of backmarkers in BSB. We'll see how that strategy works out.

Bike racing in 10 days!! :rockwoot:

LOL You're approved - you're our 13th "Team Owner"! :)

Good luck getting my $100 off of me. :)

I can hardly wait!

I went ahead and signed up as well. Team Name is Anything Goes, applied to you league as well Shawn.

Gentlemen, Start your engines!

Bump, because

THE FIRST WSBK RACE IS THIS WEEKEND!!! :yahoo: :clapping: :rockwoot: :thumbsupsmileyanim:

C'mon, race fans, I know you're out there. Get in on this so we can do a little friendly trash talkin'. Gotta do it now.

I'm really more stoked about the WSBK series this year than any of the others. Spies goes world, beemer and Aprilia in the mix, Corser Xaus & Haga on new rides, Neukirchner starting the season with respect from the team instead being the #3 afterthought... This should be cool.

Won't be able to watch Race 2 until Tuesday, so I'll be staying away from the league site & spoilers until then.

WOO HOO! :yahoo:

I'm unreasonably excited about this upcoming racing season! :)

LOL We've already got 15 "teams" signed up - all trying to win my very own $100 of hard earned cash. :)

And the trash talking has already begun. Admittedly, *I* started it but still... :)

I'm really more stoked about the WSBK series this year than any of the others.
I'm looking forward to it too. WSB is often more exciting than watching Rossi run away with races. :)

I just wanted to point out that, at the current time, the most talented guy is winning. ;)

Go Team HM Faceplant! :yahoo:

In the overall, by the way, I'm #1449. But with a bullet.

LOL Yeah, you were smart enough to pick Haga in WSB - he's scored you a *bunch* of points!

Nori is the man! And, yeah, my position is due almost entirely to his huge points lead. In the last transfer window, I picked up Spies too (I had Kiyonari, which ends any pretensions I had regarding intelligence, I guess). I think WSBK may carry me.

In MotoGP, I now have Rossi & Edwards. C'mon Yama-mama!

And I was just flat out lucky in BSB. My strategy was to spend all the dough on the big series, pick a couple of stiffs in BSB, and hope one finishes well now and then. I, of course, had zero idea who the back of the grid guys are in that series, but one of them snagged a 6th place in the first race. I don't even remember his name, but if he ends up landing in the top 10 regularly, I'll be the luckiest bastige in the game.

LOL You and me both - I dumped Kiyo as soon as I could. :(
