Gonna be in Wayne NJ this week to visit family and I'm wondering if anyone from that area knows of a business that has a ramp or dock about pickup bed height to unload my bike when I arrive and load it back up when I leave. Thanks.

You didn't bring a ramp with you?? You should be able to find one for about a $100 I would think (autoparts, Walmart)

I'd look in the Yellow Pages for motorcycle/ATV dealers. Around where I live, they all have loading docks, and should be willing to help you out, I would think.

Also, all freight/trucking companies have loading docks, as do City and County road departments. In those cases though, the docks are set up for larger trucks, and the ramp height may not be right for unloading from a pickup type vehicle.

Good Luck!

You can also attempt to back up against a berm or down into a ditch. Otherwise, just ride it off (be sure to video record for our painful pleasure).

10. Use the ramp you loaded it on with to unload it and just ride the friggin thing there.

Sorry, I couldn't really get past #10

Runner ups:

*Sorry, Google sat maps don't zoom in enough for me to be able to help from here.

* What, everyone in your familys too lazy to scout the industrial area for you ?

*What, you're too lazy to scout the industrial area yourself ?

* See if the local Walmarts loading dock works for you, if not buy a set of ramps inside and return them for refund when your done

* Unless they're already onto you

* If you loaded it facing out you wouldn't need ramps to get it off

* Park the rig downtown with the key in the bike, someone will get it out for you

* * If you'd brought Chuck Norris with you, you wouldn't be having this problem now.

Guys....a 2 x 12 works beautifully as a bike ramp, espeically if it's about 6' long, any longer and its gonna bow and break. Good cheap ramp! B)
2 things:

1.) You might want to screw a lag-bolt eye on the underside and strap it to the truck hitch or bumper. That way it won't slide off the tail gate.

2.) Roll the front truck tires on a couple of pieces of 4 X 4 to raise the front end of the truck.

You buncha whining wooseys. You do it like with this KLR 650:

Done. Asked the local Harley service department nicely, and they brought out some ramps and helped me wheel it off. I told them I'd throw them ten bucks each (to the two guys that helped me), but they refused. They also told me if I need to load it up to continue my journey in a few weeks to stop back. I might "accidentally" drop a gift card to the local liquor store as I vacate town in two weeks. Hope they don't mind.

So far, Harley's been pretty good with helping out the fellow rider. Stopped at three and all three have been pretty nice and amiable. Even though I have an FJR. Well, time to get a good night's rest so I can ride tomorrow. Thanks for all the suggestions.

PS - Their ramps were just some 8' long 2x12s with a ramp attachment at the end. Worked like a charm.
