I saw that, but i'm not sure what the make-up of the Gen 3 cans is.I don't think anybody has weighed the Gen 3 cans yet, but since some Gen 2's had extra cats....they're probably closer to the Gen 1s.
Found that data in about a minute by searching on "exhaust pounds" at https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/137137-difference-in-gen1-and-gen2-exhaust/?hl=%2Bexhaust+%2Bpounds&do=findComment&comment=894842
This is common jargon from the Gen3 press release... (quoted from Sport Rider mag)Down below, a new exhaust system sports different header lengths, with the number of catalyzers reduced from four to two, allowing greater flow and better performance. The muffler packing material is changed for better durability and reduced noise, and a new heat guard keeps excess warmth from intruding upon the ride.
Well, why don't you take a can off, weight it, and report back? Be the first and share the information for others.I saw that, but i'm not sure what the make-up of the Gen 3 cans is.I don't think anybody has weighed the Gen 3 cans yet, but since some Gen 2's had extra cats....they're probably closer to the Gen 1s.

Sweet, thanks for the info! Now I don't have to pull one.I documented a weight rant that included the exhausts here https://fjrsource.com/weight/
I think you made a error in your calculations.....Yamaha's claimed wet weight of 637 pounds does not include the weight of the saddlebags.I documented a weight rant that included the exhausts here https://fjrsource.com/weight/
