I don't think anybody has weighed the Gen 3 cans yet, but since some Gen 2's had extra cats....they're probably closer to the Gen 1s.

Down below, a new exhaust system sports different header lengths, with the number of catalyzers reduced from four to two, allowing greater flow and better performance. The muffler packing material is changed for better durability and reduced noise, and a new heat guard keeps excess warmth from intruding upon the ride.

This is common jargon from the Gen3 press release... (quoted from Sport Rider mag)

I think they might be a little throatier than my Gen1 as well.

I think you made a error in your calculations.....Yamaha's claimed wet weight of 637 pounds does not include the weight of the saddlebags.
