Anyone recognise this rider?

The piccie was taken on the move in September '09 when we were headed from Santa Barbara to Carmel, California, while we were on a 3-week tour of the USA. We were on a black FJR (2-up, loaded for touring) in the company of friends on a ST1300.

I tried to get your attention to pull over and say hi, but traffic was moving and we had to turn off.

Anyway, a belated 'Hi'

This was 5 minutes before the place where the piccie was taken:

And this 4 minutes before (times based on camera stored data. The date on the piccies is Australia date, so it would have been a day earlier USA time)

Well.......... can't say for sure.......... but he doesn't look Ghey enough to be OM....??  .. but it could be old yellow dome??!!

B....

I did think the yellow helmet might help, and the boots too. The gloves maybe also. I like the comment about OM, and I had considered him, but if OM really is O then I think this rider was too young by a decade or 2.

Here's some closer detail. There are some clues - looks like a toll-pass/tag strapped to his right arm, unusual looking gloves (IMO):

And the FJR isn't blue........... an as far as the packet on his arm........ that could be his favorite pic's of sheep, goat ??

Just say'n......

THE PICTURE WAS TAKEN ON HWY101 IN PISMO BEACH GOING NORTH TO SLO.

RIDER LOOKS LIKE "GERHARD" ON HIS 2004 FJR GOING HOME IN SANTA MARIA.

And how are you David ? :)
Hi Rog - very good in many ways, and battling along in others. Probably much like most of us, really. Zea totally surprised me 18 months ago by getting her learners licence, then going on and getting her open licence. She now rides her new FZ6 and totally loves it - wants to ride easily as much as I do. I tend to spend more time on the Aussie and International/UK boards - just too few hours in each day. Here's a write up on a ride we did locally - Zea's first big solo ride: 4,650 km in 8 days (that's about 2,800 miles)

and from our US trip last year:

If we had the resources (time and $) we would spend 3 months over your side of the world and meet many of the great FJR people we have come to know by name and piccies only.

David, it sounds like you guys had a great visit over here. Good on you!

Khunajawdge or dcarver might know who that is since it's in their neighborhood. There are a couple of local SLO guys who rode with us from Morrow Bay, 2 years ago, who are not on the forum.

Nope, sorry Aye don't recognize those boots! That '04 has those black plastc tip-over protection knobs held in by 5 mm bolts or 1/4-20 SAE if you prefer(?) Which rules out a couple of possibilities  .

Most of the people I know who ride around here dress in bullit proof ATGATT, and are armed as well. :bb2:

Right Don?

Glad you had a good ride. :clapping: Come back anytime!

Actually, looking closer, it's more like an iPod Nano (3rd Generation?) (which, BTW, is a horrible piece of equipment. You can't actually switch it off and the battery goes flat!). From what I read, that would rule out OM, as he would just about be getting into Walkman technology around about now, wouldn't he

Thanks for the links David ... WOW !! You guys had a great time :yahoo: Excellent way to put faces to names. I should check the "owners" board more often. Be great if we could "catch you" next time you're over here :)
