On Sunday June 8 we're going to depart promptly at 0800 from Chevron Food Station located at the Northeast corner of Carefree Highway-AZ 74 and Interstate 17; this is Exit #223. Restaurant is very small so our group size is going to make the decision where we have breakfast at. PLEASE RSVP by Thursday June 5 either here or by calling BeemerDonS at 602-722-0427; I'll be in Spain/France from May 24 until June 4, but I'll check my messages. And e-mail: [email protected]

Early departure time allows Arizona FJR Forum with events to go to, or chores to perform, to get back to the Valley of the Blast Furnace at an early time by backtracking down the 17. For those who wish to make a full riding day out of it we have many options. 1) Jerome-Prescott-Yarnell. 2) Sedona-Oak Canyon-Mountainaire-Mormon Lake. 3) Camp Verde-Strawberry-Payson. 4) Feeling FJRAdventurous? FJR riders wanting dirt road experience can explore graded Cherry Road.

TIME CHANGE -- TIME CHANGE -- TIME CHANGE!!! Due to popular demand, via e-mails and voice mails to me, our departure time will now be at 0800 hours. Also, if you are coming to Cottonwood from a direction over than North Phoenix, we will have a second rendezvous point set up for 0930. Meet the main group at Wal-Mart Supercenter Store parking lot located at 2003 E. Rodeo Drive. It is on the Highway 260 as you drive into Cottonwood, near the main intersection with Fir.

Great Ride Last Sunday! Thirteen AZ FJR Forum Members and AZ Beemers had a delicious breakfast at Brandee's Kitchen in Cottonwood on 6/8/08. Huge portions at a great price and nobody walked away hungry. We had two Birthday Boys in our midst. Dave Cooley turned 64 on Saturday and Herb LeGendre turns a young 79 today on Monday 06/09/2008.

Herb is a fantastic inspiration to all AZ FJR Forum and AZ Beemers. I hope that I'll still be riding as well as Herb at age 79!

After breakfast the group broke off into three packs. 1) Roger Miller and Bob Blackwell headed to Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, returning by way of Flagstaff and Mormon Lake. 2) Greg and Jane Marbach led Bob Flanders and Don Stanley up to Jerome for a quick photo stop, then back down to Cornville, Arizona - supposedly there is a great gourmet restaurant in Cornville that AZ FJR Forum and AZ Beemers should visit one of these day. I'll research this eatery for future Sunday ride.

Gassed up at Camp Verde, and enjoyed flavored ice tea and pie at the Strawberry Lodge on our way back home to PHX.

3) FJRobert - our own Robert Ashby, Dave Cooley and Geoff Oprandy led the remainder of the pack home by way of White Spars, Yarnell Grade and Wickenburg. With those three throttle hands I'll bet that's a Disneyland E-Ticket Ride to the house!

Wasn't that heat wild returning to our desert hell homes? Older this dod gets, more I hate the heat! Great ride and riders!
