Missouri State Trooper gave me an award on the way home.
Sorry to hear about the low side Allen.
It wasn't too bad. ATGATT saved all of my skin - not a scratch on me!
As for the award and my radar detector...I did not look at it (no audible warning until I switch headsets to one with an audio jack) and my right arm cramped up causing me to blip the throttle and swerve from the right lane to the left lane just behind a trooper suv. I honestly have no idea what my speed increased to but I know we were doing 70 in a 70 zone on I-57 right before this happened because Cav was leading then started to slow down. I pulled next to him and looked at my speedo and saw 72, which is actually 70. Popo said I was going more than 80 but wrote me up for 80.
Sorry to hear about both Allen, especially the LS.
On the PoPo, nothing is invincible but quick notification sure helps and missing the audio sure will do just that. On my built-in detector, I jam F&R laser, release it once I'm down to speed range somewhat. For microwave, I just have to be on my toes. I did bypass all audio and made my own LED flashing lights. I made an outboard amplifier (to power the intense 8 LED's) and it's hooked up to the audio out jack, to the LED's. It's funny how you can send AC to DC LED's.
Very similar to a Marc Parnes unit (which I took apart and studied), but, I needed more power as it is AC coming out for audio, hence the mini amp which in 2"x1", under the rear seat with the brain unit. Best radar detector bar none! I need it that way b/c I have a CDL, can't afford any more points, let alone the ticket, and, let's not forget all the stupid surcharges that are astronomical!
You can't miss the flashing, broad daylight and all, excuse the valance being off, I was upgrading the speakers. Yes, I'm a tinkerer
Good luck on the insurance, see you at
