Hal, great post. It sounds like the trip back home for J and Barabus was full of adventure. I saw Barry do his thing, and like TWN, damn near shit a twinkie thinking that me and my girlfriend, on her first 'big ride' were about to see Barabus gut all over the highway..
Back on topic.. I would like to add that my rule of thumb is to replace a helmet every two years at my level of use. I ride daily. The helmet is exposed to sun and high temps, nights below freezing, and my sweaty head.. and exterior chemicals to keep it clean. Ok, I'm paranoid but my helmets.. but every two hyears.. a new one sits on top of my cranium scareabellium.
