Not sure yet but might try to scoot up from Coral Springs, FL, would likely be Fri evening departure and Sun morning return. Can anyone recommend a reasonable motel in the vicinity?
If coming from from Florida I would recommend staying south of the Airport on I-75. Look on the map near McDonough or Stockbridge you should find plenty of choices right off of I-75. You will only be 30 minutes from downtown on a weekend and it will be a lot cheaper than downtown.

I will shoot you a PM with my cell number so if you have any troubles give me a call.

Is anyone actually riding? I show a high of 42, low of 18 on Saturday.
I might, it will depend if I can talk my special gal into taking the bike. Oh and if I can get the time to change my rear tire!

change the rear shock while you're at it ya lazy bum. :p

Tried talking my wife into taking the bike, I think she called me everything but my name. So, it looks like the cage it will be. Going to try and get down there around 10am, let her roam around a bit and then meet up with a few folks at the yamaha booth around 11.

motorcop: i'm probably in for friday.... no kitchen pass for saturday and i can't convince her that she'll find something she likes there. :)
I expect I want be able to ride due to the weather. Why do they have this thing in the dead of winter.

Planning to be there at 4 so hope to meet you

Yeah, I'm ashamed to admit it but I haven't rode my bike since ngarider and I rode on Christmas Eve. Too much travel!! And not to mention I royally screwed up my back while riding snowmobiles in Northern Illinois.

Hell this tire should get me to Atlanta and back on the wet roads just fine?

Why hell jason you've got at least 5-k left in that tire if you just stay in the twistys.

Get your money outta that tire!!!!

Well, the only way I can make it up now is to make a day trip out of it, getting up in the wee hours Saturday morning. Have to go with my wife to pick up her daughter in Tallahassee Friday evening. I'm not gonna do that and THEN drive to Atlanta!

I haven't quite talked myself out of going Saturday early, but it'd be a huge long day, and it would be driving, due to possible nastiness in the meteorological department.

We'll see.

Sorry I missed lunch but I am glad I left when I did. Hwy 185 into Columbus was starting to get really bad when I got there. The snow was starting to accumulate on the road and I saw at least 12 cars wreck or had just wrecked. They either spun into the median or the woods on the right.

The worst was a Mustang that must have hit 6 or 7 trees in the median. It had damage on all 4 sides and it was the only one that appeared to have injuries. 10 miles from Columbus and it was back to rain instead of heavy snow.

Was good meeting everyone. Glad to hear everyone so far has made it back. I'll try and get the pics we took at lunch up tomorrow. Had a great time.
