Message for Don Carver, with thanks to odot Ray: You irritatingly incompetent and infuriatingly unhelpful prissy ****.

Hey, I don't care what color it is or that it's 3 wheels I just like the fact you're going to have your face in the wind again..

after all, it's been ridiculous with you sticking your head outta the jeep window like an old hound dog does...

If you're looking for something 2-up to include Ms. Donna, I would recommend the RT for much better pillion comfort. 2008 was the first year for the Spyders so I would check on warranty replacements (there were a few things). Plus the later models (2013 and beyond) have much better handling, imo.

Yeah, T, but BD is cheap and frugal. Cheesh, he should buy the top-o-da-line for that pooch of his!

Like miss Tyler says the 13 and newer have better handling and with your rather generous proportions the newer spring rates and shocks will work better. That's what I found when I tested a 09. On the 15 I still needed to change the sway bar and may do front shocks in the future. The damn shocks are as much as GP forks for the FJR.

Thanks Ray and Ty, I'm still in the tire kicking phase of acquiring a Spyder Trike. After my mishaps, I've become apprehensive of hauling passengers. Both Girlfriend Donna and Son Seth have both stated to me they'd rather travel in the Bimmer M3 ragtop than on either a two or three wheeler, I have to respect their wishes!

But for solo runs where Seth can't go because of Schooling and Donna can't attend because of elevation and her COPD problems, a Spyder for NAFO makes good sense!

Mike K. really went the extra mile to get me detailed information on this machine, he is such a Great Guy: He went over there immediately and did a thorough inspection!

What do you want to know bout the Spyder. I'm going to run over there and take a look. Since it's being advertised through the dealer (Elk Grove Power Sports) I assume it's in decent condition. At less than 5,000 miles it hasn't been ridden much in 7 years.

3:32PM

It was one of the sold a brand-new to a customer in the foothills. He didn't write it enough so he came in and he traded it for a new quad. So they've done the service they know the condition of the thing it's one of the originals it's an electric shift doesn't have a clutch handle but it does have a Corbin seat with the flap see you don't have to pull the seat to fill the gas tank and a touring screen.

I saw one flaw, there's a mark on the fuel tank over like somebody drugged her heel on it getting on or off the bike but it looks like it would buff out.

I spoke with another writer who is there with his that came off of a hurry. He loves it said he has no problem unless he pushes the corners then he has to use his upper body a little more for steering. He also bought his used in added the saddlebags and told me his CanAm color matched were $900 shipped to his door and he install them himself.

Many thanks Mike, I owe you a meal My Friend. I am still kicking tires, but trying to get a handle on the value of used Spyders.

That RIDER came off a Harley and loves his.

No problem friend. Glad to be able to help.

Thanks again Mike, very thorough info!

I, as usual, don't get it. If'n you're itchin' for three wheels, why not get a URAL. At least it's a Dual Sport.

I'm not sure how this WWII technology got its "cool factor". A slow, unreliable, uncomfortable and unstable machine that that can't even do the legal speed limit and is usually associated with homeless old former motorcycle dudes. So what's the attraction? Kind of like driving a Willys Jeep.

FWIW, if you haven't been following along, the power assisted steering and traction/ stability control on the Spyder might be useful for a guy with injuries, impaired judgement and propensity for tipping over. JSNS
