The Audiovox CC had been working great and now 4 days before SFO + Virginia it decided to not engage anymore.. :angry2: I did not want to go tearing into the bike this close to a trip..plus will have to review all the info on the forum again...my short term memory is gone..well long term too...I installed it but can't remember s**t... :dribble: Guess I will do some reviewing tonight and look at it tomorrow.....BUMMER.....

Seems someone else today fixed a strange electrical problem (flashing speedometer and other issues) by washing the bike well. Maybe a wax would help, too. At least you'll feel better even if your CC stays broke.

Have a safe and fun trip.

In an effort to assist, do you have electrical? If you're using the included control pad, does it light up?

Don't have the control pad..just the 2 switches... the LED and all the voltage on the connector are alright.... looks like I have to raise the tank... it was working alright until I got caught in some rush hour traffic and was just inching along for about an hour... was putting off a lot of heat... after that when I resumed highway speed and tried to set the cruise nothing happen.. I was thinking maybe the vacuum lines were so hot that they were collapsing but still didn't work today after setting overnite...

I have had the same issues sparatically. When I pulled the vacuum hose from the servo, it had a sucking sound like there is suction, but something somewhere, either in the servo or along the vacuum line through the canister to the throttle bodies was clogged. I tried sucking and blowing through the vacuum lines through to the throttle body and all seems to be flowing as it should. This leads me to believe that something in the servo gets out of sync sometimes.

But before pulling the tank, make sure one of your wires hasn't come loose at the switches.

When I depress the set and resume the LED lights... and will do nothing without the on switch...isn't that saying the switches are good?

A friend had an issue where the LED responded at the servo but his CC would not SETwhen he worked his switches. When he opened up the control box, the green wire had seperated from the toggle switch post. He re-soldered it and regained the ability to SET.

Thanks, will pull it apart and check before going any further....

Checked the switches...still have good connections...

I would check the fuse and the 20K OHM resistor next to ensure they're good. If so, the problem is sure to be at the vacuum hoses, check valves, etc. or the servo itself.

No problem, I'll keep up with you on this. Let me know if you find the problem before we talk again.

Ended up finishing it last night or early this morning.... found the vacuum line split at my vacuum canister going to the servo...had enough slack to just cut it off and re-attach.. :yahoo: haven't ridden it yet to confirm the fix but think that was it.. on reflection I did notice yesterday that the exhaust on decel was louder than normal...just didn't tie it into the vacuum leak...(actually sounded good)..

Off topic.... my daughter is an Assistant DA and son-in-law is a Police Sargent... he rounds them up and she puts them away....

Thanks for your help....

Oh, I'm sure the split vacuum hose was the problem. Let me know how it goes after the TEST ride.

Now see, that's what I call a harmonious couple ;)

Had that happen to me with MCCruise on my '04. About 4 years of use.

I'm running an AVCC on my '08 & had similar symptoms. Worked for awhile then nope. Ended up being a wire that loosened in the connector that sits under the tank & then goes to the control pad. Guess that's what I get for redoing the wiring and trying to make it "factory"

Glad you got it figured out in time for your ride!

I like the structure of your family! Sounds like all you need is to add someone in the clan who is in Corrections to close the loop! :yahoo:

Have a great ride~
