Here's a thought....
The airbox is HUGE. Put the blasted thing inside the airbox. It will always be bathed in fresh, cool air and you can run the actuator cable out through the PAIR input. You HAVE removed your PAIR octopus, haven't you?
That'd blow Wicked Webby's airbox mod all to hell, wouldn't it??

Heck with it. Remove the airbox, just use the intake pipes right on the throttle bodies, stick some sponges or something on the end for air cleaning, and then you've got all that room for other stuff.
I am really thinking about doing that. I wonder if I can find some K&N to fit.
I don't think you'd really gain much. Those pipes go almost right up to the stock air cleaner, so by the time you stick a K&N or something on the bare pipe, you're into the same space the airbox was using. And you've got to do something with that crankcase vent tube, too.

Hmmm... I thought I replied yesterday, but must have never clicked "Add Reply".

Just figured it out... you posted the same exact question on another forum: https://www.fjriders.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4731. Why was another forum created anyway? It just splits up information and discussion that would be better off shared among everyone.
Just hoping to get maximum exposure to the most AE riders.

I don't think I'd worry too much about engine heat....

....still going strong....
Now THAT is a unique spot!

Some folks felt our admins' attempts to keep things here organized and running smoothly were a bit "heavy-handed" and decided to take their ball and go home.

Guess they didn't appreciate our flavor of anarchy and wanted a taste of their own.

A portion of the decision for some of these folks to pull up stakes, piss on the fire and call the dogs was based on unfounded and patently false claims of "censorship".

They didn't like the rules here and went elsewhere. It really is that simple.
Not to get into a pissing match-I was one and I am back after a positive discussion with one of the Mods-but it really wasn't "that simple" in all cases. This reply is just to maintain a balance, since you don't speak for everyone. Additionally, perceptions of "censorship" can differ in myriad ways. To call them "patently false claims" when you have no idea of the individual issues is uninformed, at best. C'mon, RadioHowie, quit the generalizations and play nice-let's stick to servos and mounting locations! :winksmiley:
