Audiovox Cruise Control

Spring is my favorite time of the year... EXCEPT for working on all the farkle bugs that took root over the winter. The most onerous of the glitches is my audiovox cruise. It's been working flawlessly on my '05 FJR for more than two years. The keypad has power (it's lit up) but nothing works. I checked the easy places for a vacuum leak, but couldn't find a loose or damaged hose.

Suggestions?

Make sure the "Farkle Bugs" didn't make your brake pedal/brake light switch stick and keep your AVCC from activating. Crank it up and check your brake lights.

I wish it was this, but the switch seems to be working fine. Any other ideas???

Take a voltmeter to the purple and red wires at the brake light switch. Purple should be 0 volts with brakes off, 12 volts with brakes on. Red should be constant 12 volts. Anything other than 0 volts with brakes off and the unit will not set a speed.

You said the pad is lit up, but does the center LED light when you press ON? The illumination can be different from the power indicator. Check the fuse on the orange wire to the control pad.

Check the ground wire from the main unit. (I don't think the pad would illuminate of the ground wire was bad, but still . . . .)

One of your farkles didn't involve LED or pulsing brake lights did it? IIRC, that can mess up* the signal to the CC.

Uhhh, actually YES. I have the pulsing LES brake lights. But, I never had problems before... two+ years of CC use.
