Lost a spring in the Zx14's clutch basket... it bounced around gnawing the case, then took out the oil pump gear. Cause at this point: Unknown.

As I was rolling along at the side of the road (after shutting down the motor), I picked up a 1" piece of obsidian in my brand new rear tire (DOT was paving the road).

It sucks to be me.............. :angry2:

I was thinking the same thing Ray.

Didn't you learn anything in school Stephen? 8000 RPM clutch drops + big a$$ed rear tire equals big bang theory... ;) j/k. Hope the damage doesn't go too much deeper...and you do have an extended warranty, right?

In the state of Washington, Kawasaki doesn't offer an extended warranty. :(

Or yes, I would have purchased it.

I ordered most of the parts off ebay. Had to order an new clutch basket (AMA discount from BikeBandit.com).

I'm going to miss that 6th gear.

Dude! How deep are you gonna have to dig to get all that **** outa there? You know there's junk in the crankcase, right? I hope you aren't thinking a new pump gear and clutch is all that needs to be done . . . . . When you drop the oil pan you'll be able to tell a bit more about the ditribution of bits that's occurred.

Oil pan off. More spring pieces and some shavings.

Using a super-magnet to collect as much stuff as possible that I can see or reach.

Two changes of oil & filter. That's about all I can do without splitting the cases.
