I rode the new KTM 525 Auto clutch with foot shift. Way cool, just like a grown up honda xr70 with way more power. Is the FJR AE clutch the same type? Being the AE is in the fastest color I may need to rethink my bike stable. Doug

Does the KTM have a factory auto clutch now, or is that a Rekluse Z-Start aftermarket clutch? I hear that the Rekluse is the cat's ass on dirt bikes and really works quite well. It's on the short farkle list for my WR250F. That way, when I get my AE, both bikes will have auto clutches, and maybe I'll get used to it easier.

I don't think they are really alike, although very similar in function. The AE is an electronic shifter and controls the clutch, engine speed and all sorts of variables. I think the Rekluse is purely a mechanical auto "slipper" clutch working on centrifugal force.

Sound right to youz guyz?

Just talked to the dealer(it was his bike). Yes, it is the Rekiuse aftermarket clutch. Very smooth-real nice. All I would need is a small step ladder to get on every time I ride it. :D Doug
