I have an 11 FJR the Aux plug in the faring is it strong enough to sustain a portable air compressor to check my tires?
+1Get yourself one of these: https://www.powerlet.com I get mine from these guys: https://www.pca-one.com/search.asp?search=bike&bikeYear=2009&bikeMake=Yamaha&bikeModel=FJR1300
And it gets warm enough in there to melt candy bars.No--fuse will blow. It's good for a cell phone, I-Pod, ect.....
Wouldn't this depend on what size portable compressor you're using? I've got a real small FIX A FLAT compressor about the size of a standard mailing envelope and I've used it once and no issues (so far).No--fuse will blow. It's good for a cell phone, I-Pod, ect.....

Only 3 amps! Sheesh!! defeats the purpose. The fuse for the glove box outlet is only 3 amps...most small compressors need 10 amps or so.
Good idea.An SAE pigtail on the battery (for a battery tender) is going to work fine in a pinch.Wouldn't this depend on what size portable compressor you're using?
