Note that any of the flashers will only produce the desired results when hooked up to LED brake lights.

If you attempt to flash the regular, incandescent brake light bulbs, the filaments react too slowly to the switched power and you just get a dimmer brake light (definitely not desirable).

That one is the same, THIS one is too, but from eBay from another vendor.

Hey Guys, I've been looking for a brake flasher that is adjustable for duration and number of flashes but I only want it to work on the leds.

I am wrong to assume the 3 lead flashers actually require you to cut the brake lead and wire the flasher into the circuit?

The hyperlite flasher just taps the brake lead to get the signal.

As you said, you put flasher's input across the brake light and the leds to the flasher's output

one Question..... Anyone install aux brake lights that didn't mess up there audiovox cruise control?
An aux brake light (w/ or w/o a flasher) will not mess up your AVCC. The AVCC gets messed up if you put a flasher module in line with the stock brake lights.

You are correct. You just tap into the brake light signal with the input to the flasher module, and let the flasher module drive the LED aux light. No need to cut the brake wire.

Patriot,

I've admired this light set up every time I've see it posted! Do you have hyperlites inside the turn signal lenses? Run-N-Lites made replacement sockets for dual filament bulbs to fit BMWs, I had them in mine. But checking their website, they still only make them for BMW. They were "plug and play", nice and simple, of course that was way before LEDs hit the consumer market.

I've had the Hyperlights in my hand but just felt I wanted something to bolt on instead of sticky tape for surface mount. However if they would fit inside the light, I probably would feel better about the mount. ( I know, a little too anal maybe)

I am not too well versed on electronics, so would probably just buy a kit with flash module, etc.

Thanks

John

Hum, do I detect some similarities here, yep, I think Patriot's setup is brighter
