Nice TWN. I like it. motorgod I like that shark avatar. I had that as my backdrop on my computor for the longest time when I was taking diving lessons.

Is there such a thing as an inappropriate avatar? This is not a site run by a school, government organization, or pay for service company. Is anything inappropriate on this site? Where are the rules?

Don't call WC a girly-man. Pretty much anything else goes.

Devioulsy hidden at the top of the page by the motoryclces under the vague and ambiguous term "Forum Guidelines". Usually only rocket scientists and collection agents find the link.

.....or if you still can't find, try clicking here

Discussion of avatars have largely centered around file size and our desire to to keep things tolerable for our dial-up challenged friends as well as a few issues about work-appropriate avatars. Many of us work for "the man" and would still like to be able to review this forum while on the clock and not risk having to go explain things to HR.

I think the original avatar itself is fine by the way Bruce.

Welp, the Pacific Northwest has checked in. Funny, you didn't strike me as a (politcal reference deleted). Go figure! ;)
You want my political beliefs and affiliations you're welcome to PM me. I might surprise you.

The icon is fine. It's the conversation that people want to start up that always gets us in trouble.

That's my point, Matt. The avatar is politcal conversation simply by the virture of it's content. I don't know why you don't see that. :dntknw:

I like avatars that leave something to the imagination

:haha:

Or at least have you tilting your monitor trying to see above the line

I guess I just don't--maybe because the scan quality is fairly crappy. But, I think if I were to kill it--I'd personally be going over the line on guideline #3 and #6 myself.

I'm done here. Feel free to take it up with the other three admins if you like.

Thanks for the input, sorry I brought it up. The scan quality is poor because of the limit on the file size. But the message gets out.

Please kill this dead horse.

Thanks,

Bruce

Naw....let's keep it going. Twn's insightful comments and witticisms are healthy and refreshing.

WARNING: INCORRECT INFORMATION AHEAD!!

Bruce, as far as I'm concerned you can post whatever you want...that goes for everyone.  If people don't want to read it they don't have to click on the post....Maybe we can change NWS to NOT WIMP SAFE  :p   ;)
There just ain't nothin' like being 100% wrong is there. :)

10% wrong and some folks might think you're actually right.

25% wrong and maybe someone starts a discussion.

50% wrong and a schism develops, usually along socio-political lines.

75% wrong and supporters start bailing faster than John Dean poll workers.

But 100% wrong. Man that smells good. 100% wrong is WRONG! Definitively wrong. With no argument, no explanation, just take your smelly cheese home and apologize for being SO wrong.

If people don't want to read it they don't have to click on the post....
It has NOTHING to do with the post...the topic of the post...which forum it's in...even the language used within the post. It's the Human Resources Department-challenged avatar that displays in EVERY post by the user of that avatar, waiting to go off like some graphic claymore, scattering its possibly career threatening shrapnel with disregard.

Even if you start a "Gosh wasn't Mother Theresa a wonderful woman" thread, if some tightassed complainer sees a set of bouncing **** on my monitor 'cause someone's opionion was 100% wrong

If people don't want to read it they don't have to click on the post....
there's gonna be hell to pay.

It has NOTHING to do with wimps, anymore than being 100% wrong is just plain being blockheaded. But in this case, we'll let others judge. ;-)

But thanks, anyway, for setting an FJR Forum benchmark for wrongness. Now, in the future, when someone expresses apocryphal, or even totally incorrect information, we can all compare it to

and judge said apocryphal or incorrect statements on a sliding "Motorgod Wrongness" scale.

:bleh: :p
