UPDATE:

This last Storm II Ultra I only got 7000 kms on the rear and it was toast. It was unsafe to finish my SS ride. The piss-off is that I have done nothing different. Big disappointment.

Please tell me a km is longer than a mile! Although I've got around 4800kms on mine now and they are looking really good. Did they look good and then drop off at the end, or wear away evenly?
7000 KMS is 4.3495 Miles or 7000 x .62
OK--7000 kilometers = 4.34 miles. Got it!

Another comment on them--compared to any other tire I've tried they seem to have the most consistent wear when they are getting to the end. They were going down very predictably, compared to some tires that just are gone before you expect it. I would have liked to run them to the threads to see what happened, but traction will be a serious issue when I finally pull my bike out in April to ride and the roads have been sanded all winter.

When Avon ran their $50 rebate I thought they might end up dropping the price, but they remain a pretty pricy tire, which is why I didn't get another set.
