Ok mister gerbil loving tire engineer............
Realistically, there is not much difference between 41/44 and 42/46. I mean, do you check them at the same temperature? The same temperature your riding is done at? I doubt many would note much difference between those pressures.
You clod of a playa ballerina. Wadayou, ******* bored and just wanna argue? On a truck tire, 3#'s may be squat, but on a small tire like this? The 2# difference in the rear equates to nearly 5%. That's significant in my book.

I think your tutu is too tight. :bleh:

OK - I'm not bored, just dazed and confused -- information overload, I think. I installed the Tire Watch sensors in my new Avon Storms back in december (from the group buy on the Tire Watch system). Now the damned sensor is telling me that, for example, my front tire runs up to 42 psi after 5-10 min on the freeway, even though it starts out at 38 psi. So ... if 2# is a big difference, should I be setting pressure based on cold pressure (like it always says in the manual) or running pressure??

Other problem is finding a pressure guage when filling the tire that's accurate (relative to the Tire Watch read-out) .

Maybe ignorance is / was bliss after all. ;)

For street bikes, PSI should always be taken when tires are 'cold' - or so it is written. ;)

A slight change from my original post. I mis-stated the tire pressures that the Avon Rep suggested. I was going off of my memory (which sucks by the way) because I couldn't find my flyer where I wrote down the tire pressures he stated. Well, I found the flyer and here again is what he suggested.

The Rep suggested to run 42 front (which is what I first posted), 45 rear (which previously I posted 46). Something else I wrote down that I didn't mention before was that he suggested running 50 in the rear tire when 2-up. 50!!!!

Again, I'm 6'3" and 190 pounds and my wife was not with me so he had no idea what she weighs. I think I'll run the 42 front, 45 rear and check the pressures after I know they are hot. I'm curious for sure.
