Regarding my Avon tire problem that induced head shaking on my '05 FJR.......It has been solved. As I said, I took the bike back to my local Yamaha dealer, Smith's Yamaha, in Hope, ME and asked them to see what they could see. After removing the front wheel and putting on a truing stand it was clesrly evident that the front tire was out of round and there was also a funny spot in the tire tread. They ordered a new front tire and I picked up today. NOOOOOOOO Problem. No vibration at any speed that I could detect, with or without my hands on the handlebars. This may explain similiar problems that other Avon tire users have had, if so, Avon should be doing a much better job of quality control.
