Truly frightening photos, an excellent spread of wildfire photos from Minnesotas Boundary Waters Canoe Area, a pristine National Forest in the Arrowhead Region.

Hope them boaters didn't hang in the smoke too long....good way to spend a day at the hospital.

Shiat - We'd call that grass fire in in 'kalifornia'
Well, part of the problem is a 400,000 acre blowdown that occured in 1999.

Fuel is not an issue.

'What a waste of time that was...didn't catch a damn thing' :drag:

'Aw, hell, man...your ashtray is full'

'Well just throw it out the window, moron!..there's no one around here anyway...and give me another beer'

:dribble:

in this case, lightning...
Correct. The Minnesota Stop Smoking Coalition inspected all of the area, could not find a single butt. Several died in the process, their last dying words "at least it wasn't tobacco smoke"..... :dribble:

400,000 acres of blown down trees and the environmental groups won't let us touch a single one. Habitat for the poor little critters. Don't want to upset the ecological cycle. Just think of all the McDonald wrappers that coulda been made from all that. :D

That tree house got lucky and survived.....so I got my spare gas can and burned that M*th#er&uc*&r down. Sorry. If bambi can't eat grass....

In one of the photo's there was an outboard on an aluminum boat. That is the first outboard I have seen in the Boundary Waters area.
