The trip was pretty interesting, yet very hurried and alot of driving. We got into Paris a week ago friday and headed for the west coast of France (la Tremblade) an area famous for it's oysters. On a funny note,...After we left the resturant at Fort Bouyard friday evening the boss pulled the tom tom gps that we had rented for the trip and promptly dropped it to the cobblestone,.....the screen went black :dribble: . It had helped us get into this little town (A LOT of little streets back and forth) to get to the resturant just as it was getting dark. After a bit of freaking out i found a paper clip and did a power up reset and we were back on the move. We did sat/sunday at an equipment show and then headed for the Netherlands to see some processing plants. It was the Queen's birthday, and Amsterdam was rockin' tuesday evening,.... Very interesting city and our hotel was only a five minute walk from a rather famous part of it,... thats all i have to say about that. Back to Paris the next day and got to see the Tower and the Arc de' Triumph(sp?). Flew out last thursday morning and arrived home very tired.
Couple' of things i noticed,....and kinda' expected to
1.. There are about (4) 1/2 ton trucks in europe,....And the people driving them have a guilty look on their face (fuel as high as 1.40 euro = like $2.25 ish CDN)
2.. About 80% of the people in the Netherland's speak English and are a very friendly/helpful bunch,....The French,..on the other hand..
3.. They are Way Big on FJR's in Europe i'd say 1 in 15 of the bike's i saw. And of course the cops are on them as well.
4.. jet lag sucks
BeemerDons,..
.I had like five minuites in a bike shop in Goes (netherlands),.the tall/hot dutch sales lady showed me about 3 different types of schubert helmets but i had forgotten which side plates you needed(sorry). She said that they would ship and i have the shops card. i'll find it in a bit and post it up here.
